Music at Grace
The mission of the music program at Grace Church is to foster congregational song by inspiring, teaching, and leading the singing of the entire people gathered to worship. In addition to congregational singing, the people’s worship is elevated by organ and choral music, instrumental solos, and vocal solos. Our music draws primarily on the traditional hymns of the Episcopal Church, as found in the Hymnal 1982 and Lift Every Voice and Sing (LEVAS II). These resources are further enriched by the inclusion of a wide variety of styles, from contemporary to jazz, old spirituals to modern gospel, ancient plainchant to classical choral music.
We strive for the utmost artistry in every aspect of our diverse music-making, fostering beauty and dignity that reflects the infinite beauty of God our Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer.
Grace Church boasts three choirs, encompassing singers of all ages and skill levels. Worship is led by a choir at the 9:30am Holy Communion Service every Sunday.
