This is one of the most solemn liturgies of the year. The liturgy includes the chanting of the Passion from the Gospel according to John, and the Solemn Collects (among the most ancient pattern of intercessory prayer that the church has). The service includes hymns of the Passion, adoration of the Cross, and concludes with Communion from the Reserved Sacrament.
