2026 Annual Giving

Parish members are encouraged to make an annual stewardship pledge. This pledge represents their specific Christian commitment to “work, pray, and give for the spread of the kingdom of God” (BCP, p. 856).

Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

It has certainly been an eventful year at Grace. There is so much to be excited about at 19 Kings Highway. We continue to see new faces appear and choose to call Grace their spiritual home. Our Christian Formation programs are growing. The Parish Life Committee continues to provide opportunities for us to come together to do the joyful work of building community. Recently, eight parishioners, supported by many others, trained as grief group facilitators. They left the training energized and full of ideas about expanding lay pastoral care within the congregation. And on November 12, Bishop French will formally institute me as Grace's Fourteenth Rector.

The year has not been without challenges; we continue to operate on a deficit budget in excess of $50,000 and have had to make several unexpected but necessary repairs that are above budget to the parish house.

This year, our Stewardship theme is taken from Saint Matthew’s Gospel. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:21) This short verse follows a long exhortation from Jesus on giving, generosity, and prayer. This theme, and the parable it is taken from, point us to the reality that all we have is a gift from God and that we are called to give generously out of gratitude for what we have been given. It is an encouragement from Christ to give out of faithfulness, hope, joy, and love for the God who has given all so that we might find life and peace through him.

Over the next few weeks, please take some time to pray, contemplate, and give thanks for what God has given in abundance, and then think about how God is calling you to give back. I invite you to join me in making a pledge to support our parish for the coming year. As you pray, consider whether God is calling you to increase your pledge for this year.

Included with this letter is a pledge card for 2026 and a weekly proportional giving chart intended to help you as you discern your gift. The front of the pledge card invites you to make a financial pledge, and the back of the card invites you to make a pledge of your wisdom and your works. The cards can be mailed back to the church, placed in the offering plate on Sunday, or dropped off in one of the “Stewardship” boxes in the Church or Parish House. You may also submit your pledge online at gracehaddonfield.org/pledge. On Sunday, November 16th, all remaining and previously gathered pledge cards will be brought to the altar to be blessed and offered up to the service of God.

In Christs’ Love,

Father Neil
